Architecture Photography Awards
"The Architecture Photography Awards is an international photography competition dedicated to showcasing outstanding visual interpretations of architecture from around the world. We celebrate photographers who capture not just buildings—but the soul of space, structure, light, and design".
Designed by Architects & Engineers firm Dissing+Weitling the Squiggly Bridge, officially known as the Tradeston Bridge, is a striking pedestrian and cycle bridge in Glasgow that spans the River Clyde. Opened in May 2009, it connects the Tradeston area on the south bank with the International Financial Services District on the north bank.
The bridge, designed with an S-shaped, horizontally curved deck that resembles a squiggle — hence the nickname, is both a functional crossing and a visual landmark, reflecting Glasgow’s blend of industrial heritage and modern urban renewal. Taken by Neil Fraser, this photograph of the Squiggly Bridge is a 2025 finalist in the "Bridges" category of the international Architectural Photography Awards.
